The flooding in Malawi and Mozambique over the last two weeks has been devastating to communities, but you would scarcely realise it from the little coverage it has gained from our media.
The image below shows the flood extents estimated from satellite data covering just part of the country – there was extensive flooding to the north too. This data was captured as part of the International Disasters Charter.
The purpose of this blog post is to draw attention to the issue and to ask you to consider giving to a charity helping in this region. My suggestion would be Shine Relief Trust which is a Christian charity run by a couple of my friends, who are great people. Their fundraising page can be found here.
If you’re not comfortable giving to a Christian charity, please do find another charity working in the area to help reduce the impact of these floods.
